Dr Hauschka Advent Calendar | British Beauty Blogger

[unpaid/sample] I’m coming towards the end of the advent calendars I have here and don’t have any intentions of calling any more in so I’m very glad to have the Dr Hauschka version to show you. It’s one for the skin care lovers out there and an example of how brands are trying to create different formats for this seasonal treat. I really like the layout – there’s something both chess and whack-a-mole about it so there’s a sense of fun without seeping into kitsch (although lord knows I love a bit of kitsch!).

It’s uncomplicatedly recyclable or reusable if you prefer – ideas for this might be star charting or rewards for kids who aren’t going to care that the box says Rose Day Cream when they know it’s going to yield a tiny box of Smarties or a little toy. I really like this format – it’s simple, unobtrusive and has a very pleasing sense of order.

Inside there are 24 skin care treats – 23 sample size and one full size of Rose Day Cream, a best-seller and favourite. The value is £150.

It’s a thoughtful mix of products – everything from masks to toners to moisturisers… all the things you’ve probably always wanted to try from this. A fun fact is that Dr Hauschka started life as Healing Skin Care by Elizabeth Sigmund which you must agree doesn’t have the same snap to it :-). I’ve enjoyed reading the history of Dr Hauschka and particularly the concept of natural cosmetics which wasn’t a term in common usage back in the 60’s. I mean, people found their way being creative, particularly during war time, but the idea certainly wasn’t mainstream.

This is something I’d definitely consider for myself – it feels more like a luxury tasting menu and less like a festive feast and somehow not so ‘gifty’. Enjoy! It’s £90 HERE.
